Hellooooo Spring!

Spring in WA – what a time, right?! We’re looking forward to the warmer weather and longer days, and we’re also looking forward to a few (very) cool shoots that we have up our sleeves.

August was good to us. We had a nice balance of work and play, and winter hibernation has given us time to ponder some new ideas… scroll on if you’re interested in learning how to level up your organisation’s content strategy!

So, what have we been up to?

This month the team travelled to Derby in the West Kimberley for the Long Table Dinner and attended State of Social atv Optus Stadium. Naturally, Travis got behind the camera for the derby and to send off Shuey, Nic Nat and Hurn. We captured some powerful little voices become One Big Voice at RAC Arena, travelled out to Mundaring for the Perth Hills Project, and got our style on at the RM Williams store opening in the CBD. We wrapped up the month rocking out with Jimmy Barnes at Solomon mine, certainly a night to remember!

Alrighty folks, it’s time that we get real for a second. Two questions to keep you accountable:

1. Did you set goals for your online presence in 2023?
2. Does it look like you’re going to reach those goals?

If you answered no to question numero uno, well, you should have and here is why (whilst you’re on Linkedin, be sure to give us a follow). If you answered no to question numero dos, don’t worry, you are NOT alone. Things happen, other stuff takes priority, we get it, and we want to help.

Over Spring, we will be sharing with you some of our top tips when it comes to simplifying and streamlining the content creation process. We’ll be kicking it off this September with (drum roll please)…

PERSONALITY

Translation: be yourself. Yep, you heard us right. It’s as simple and as difficult as that.

What do you mean ‘be yourself’? How could I be anyone else?” We hear you ask? Well, of COURSE you are being yourself, but how is that translating into your online presence?

Your brand personality should be expressed through the tone, voice and style of the content on you socials. Additionally, it should be consistent across platforms. Still not sure? Read on…

Audit your online presence. You know your brand best, so how well is it being reflected in your content? There are a bunch of online guides to audit your brand, including here and here. Doing so will help you ensure that your content is aligned to your purpose, and give you greater clarity about the content you want to create moving forward and achieving those goals like the social media superstar that you are!

This month, we challenge you to show your brand personality in your online content. We LOVE a KPI here at SoCo, so aim to post at least four times a week across your platforms (that is each platform, not four times in total… no easy way out here sorry bucko!). These could include:

  • Meet the team
  • Behind the scenes
  • Storytime
  • Q&A/FAQs
  • Background to the business
  • Business purpose and goals

…the list goes on. If you run out of ideas, you can turn to Google (or ChatGPT) for more! The possibilities are endless!

At the end of September, check back in on how your content has performed. What has done well? What has flopped? Have your analytics changed at all? Use these insights to inform your brand strategy for the final three months of 2023 to shoot towards your goals!

If you have any questions, be sure to reach our socials strategy team here. We can’t wait to see what you create!

Happy Spring!
With love,
The SoCo Team x
